Robb Manes was enjoying a day by the pool in Denver, Colorado, when winds suddenly picked up dozens of inflatable mattresses, sending them flying across a field on Aug. 17. Manes says the mattresses were being setup for a 'movie night under the stars'.
The stormy pattern will continue across much of the Northeast into Wednesday, bringing high humidity and thunderstorms to much of the region.
Following gusty thunderstorms that moved through parts of Pennsylvania and New York over the weekend, rounds of wet weather will persist through midweek.
Locally strong storms rumbled from Boston to Philadelphia on Monday afternoon and evening, leading to hundreds of flight delays and thousands of power outages.
"The overall pattern through Tuesday will be quite similar, with waves of showers and thunderstorms moving through the Northeast," said AccuWeather Meteorologist Tyler Roys.
The one exception on Tuesday will be in New England, where much of the region may escape any thunderstorm activity.
A few thunderstorms could again produce heavier downpours on Tuesday.
"Localized cases of flash flooding and gusty winds will be the most likely severe threats, other than frequent lightning," added Roys.
Local fairs going on this week could also be impacted by the thunderstorms.

As a whole across the region, Wednesday's activity appears to be more widespread.
"The most potent storms of the week look to move in with a cold front on Wednesday. Storms will be capable of producing hail, damaging winds and flash flooding," Roys said.
The potent storms could impact the afternoon and evening commutes in cities like Buffalo and Pittsburgh, along with the Little League World Series matches in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, during the evening.
Temperatures will remain above normal for many places through the middle of the week as well.
Temperatures soared in cities from Boston to Washington D.C., on Monday and reached record levels for the date in some spots. This included Boston, Baltimore and Washington, D.C. (Dulles).
Farther inland across the Northeast, the continued stormy pattern from northern Vermont to West Virginia will provide enough cloud cover to keep temperatures well below record levels.
Despite lower temperatures, dew points in the 60s and 70s F across much of the area will bring AccuWeather RealFeel® Temperatures as much as five to ten degrees above the actual air temperature.
Cities like Columbus, Ohio, Pittsburgh and Syracuse, New York, will all have RealFeel® temperatures in the lower to middle 90s in the afternoon.
With the chance for thunderstorms increasing in places like New York City and Baltimore on Tuesday, temperatures are likely to drop. However, RealFeel temperatures will still be around 100 degrees.
The heat and high humidity will stick around through the middle of the week before a refreshing air mass moves into the Northeast on Thursday.
